I create my pottery in a hundred year old barn, overlooking a sparkling spring fed pond. It thrills me every time I take a piece of clay and make something new. I find the remarkable fluidity of throwing on the wheel completely absorbing.
My pottery is all functional, but ranges in style from vases with attached handbuilt flowers and crisp apple canisters to sophisticated dinnerware and serving pieces to jack-o-lantern cookie jars that watch you move around your kitchen.
You can see my inspirations in my work: our neighborhood farm animals, folk art holiday decorations and my late grandmother’s inexplicable collection of clowns.
My color palate comes directly from my gardens, the chartreuse of spring, deep rich brown of the soil and riot of bright colors that stretch to the skies in the summer sun.

Directions from Jeffersonville:
Take Willy Ave. (RT 127) 5 miles to Callicoon Center (follow the double yellow lines). Make a left at the stop sign onto The Gulf Road. Take the 2nd right, onto Bayer Road, up the hill to #92. The driveway is long and the studio is located in the old barn behind the house. From Roscoe: Make a left on the Gulf Road and travel 9 miles thru Callicoon Center turn right on Bayer Road, — continue as above. Studio is open year round by appointment or chance.
